Spring Happenings 2018

Posted on April 14, 2018 with 0 comments

2018 began quietly. In January and February I was hoping to do a lot of reflective exercises,  journal and paint.  Then, we got dumped on with snow. That was anything but restful.  The heat went off, the roads were impassable, and it took a little while to get back in the swing of regular life. It was cold, gray and dreary. I was anything but creative.

Then March came.  Taxes were processed and sent in quickly--always a relief for me.  That practical side of me is not my favorite place to operate from.

Then, I headed to Springbank Retreat Center in Kingstree, SC. to teach flute.  I really enjoyed that!  Springbank for me is a haven of natural beauty, and just teeming with Spirit.  I enjoy my time with the Sisters very much. It always awakens my creativity.

My sister Betsy came for a fun visit. A few days later my friend Joan from New Jersey was here exploring Charleston. I loved having time with them both.

April brought the Southern Sampler Artist Colony to Folly Beach for another year of enjoying Charleston and being very immersed in the city's cultural background.  I liked meeting the new group of participants and providing music and Spiritual ceremonies to add to their time here.

I had the BEST birthday celebrating with friends and family.  It all made me feel very special and truly celebrated.  It doesn't get much better than that!!

To close April out I will return to Springbank for some well needed R&R, and to be with my friends there.

On April 29th I will be playing at Unity Church for an event that encourages religious freedom.  Representatives from many religions will be speaking and their will be music to accompany it all.

Life continues to be so uplifting.

I so appreciate being able to bring my flute music to places and to create an atmosphere that many people find soothing and freeing.  It is a blessing to me.
